Autumn Skin Transition

As we start adjusting to the drop in humidity and the cooler days, it's common to feel like your skin is tighter and drier, as we are no longer exposed to the harsh Summer environmental conditions. These conditions often create the perfect storm for dryness, sensitivity or lacklustre and can especially cause issues for people with sensitive skin who experience eczema or itchy skin.

Other external aggravators like moving from warm to cooler environments, plus factors in our diet change where we might have a higher intake of fats and oiler foods, along with less water intake, can mean that we may also be more prone to breakouts.. great!

So, with all this in mind, how do we breeze through this seasonal transition and come out the other side with glowy Autumn skin?

1. Hydration
Good health and skin, starts from within. Just because we aren’t experiencing those hot Summer days, it doesn't mean you should cut down on your water intake. Keep hydrated, this could look like more herbal teas if you’re not feeling like guzzling down big water bottles.

2. Exfoliation
Exfoliate Gently. It is definitely time to review your exfoliation products as these things can feel irritating to the skin now more so than usual with the lack of humidity and moisture. However, it’s still important that you get rid of that dead, SPF, sun exposed skin allowing your best Autumn skin can shine through. Don’t use anything too aggressive as at this stage there as are already too many changing factors to consider with regard to oil and climate. So try a gentle exfoliant such as Daily microfoliant, Daily Superfoliant or Ultra Dual Microfoliant, all available in store.

3. Keep it Clean
Switch to a more hydrating cleanser. You may consider a milk cleansers or something that's hydrating and not too stripping. Such as B2 Micellar Water, Precleanse, Intensive Moisture Cleanser or Ultra Hydrating Milk Cleanser. These are all available in store.

4. Nourishment
Swap out your lightweight summer staples for richer options. Time to step up to the next level moisturize. You can add in face oils, hydrating serums, and masks, will help to nourish your skin as the weather starts to feel drier

5. Vitamin C
Add Vitamin C to your Regime.
Vitamin C will help combat rays that aren't fully blocked by your sunscreen along with evening out pigmentation which helps to boost collagen giving you a brighter complexion.
